The Elusive Shining Force:The Legacy Of Great Intention
In Ages Long Forgotten... Is how this game begins and it also describes this games era. Shining Force:The Legacy Of Great Intention is probably one of the best games of the mid 90's and its a real shame that games like Pokemon had to come out because since the series of Pokemon games has come out, all games with a similar look are quickly given the toss into the "no play" bin when in reality it is probably one of the best Sci-Fi/Alternate Timeline/Fantasy style games out on the vintage console circuit. The basic storyline is this: 1000 Years before the players time a war was fought between an ancient race and an evil dragon named (Surprise,Surprise) Dark Dragon. The Ancients-as the good guys were called- ended up banishing Dark Dragon to another dimension. Then the ancients created all life on earth and disappeared forever. Now fast forward 1000 years to the timeline of Max. Max is a good guy whom you get to name although if you don't name him, he ends up getting called Max. Yay Max! Anyway, max is sort of the knight Varios's Protege. It turns out Max washed up on a beach and Varios found him. He then proceeded to train him. Then one day, Varios is training Max when he gets an urgent message from the king of the land of Guardiana. When you get to the king he then tells you to go on a journey to stop several soldiers from breaking the seal on an ancient gate to something known as the Legacy Of The Ancients. He then sends you with several companions on your happy little way. You arrive at the gate to discover that Runefaust (not at all related to Oktober Fest) is behind the deed.
